Meadowsweet Workshop
Friday, 6/27/25
3 hrs – 1-4 pm
(This workshop is part of our Single-Herb Series here at Midsummer Farm – you can join us for single workshops, or for all three of our 2025 Single-Herb workshops. Register for all 3 here.)
Meadowsweet has always been a useful herb for me (mainly in the form of an afternoon brew of meadowsweet and nettle tea), but over the past year, I gained a whole new appreciation for the ways this very classic herb works…
Meadowsweet has been a bit pigeon-holed in herbalism as a headache herb – as it contains salicylatic compounds or “natural aspirin.” However, it’s abilities and affinities to humans is so much more than that!
During this workshop, we will be discussing all the rich ways Meadowsweet interacts with the human system and how it can help with digestive issues, respiratory issues, arthritis and rheumatoid issues, gout, blood detoxification, urinary tract issues, hormonal and stress issues, and supportive therapy for colds and flus, as well as much more - its energetics act both in cooling and drying ways – and its effectiveness for treating so many health problems stems from how these energetics work through the array of phytochemicals within it.
Blossoms are the main part used with this plant – and I am hoping that our Meadowsweet plants will be in full bloom for this workshop, so we can harvest together, and also so you can meet these majestic plants in all their glory!
Cost includes all materials, blossoms for your home apothecary, and a Meadowsweet plant... Workshop is hands-on and takes place at Midsummer Farm.
