A dry-packed ‘brick’ about 1 foot by 3 inches 1.36 liters

This long-stranded moss is extremely useful for moisture remediation. Used mainly with growing moisture-picky orchids, I use it for all sorts of container growing.

I find it essential when bringing herbs such as Rosemary, Lemongrass, Indigo, Lemon Verbena, Ginger, and Turmeric. By creating a layer of this moss on the soil under the plants, you create a micro-climate that maintains even moisture in the soil and also provides more humid air around the plant. You still have to make sure you don’t overwater, but you will have to water a lot less and it gives that plant more time with moist air but without sopping wet roots.
