Description
Sushni (Marsilea minuta) – Also known as water clover. I always think of sushni in combination with bacopa and gotu kola. The three tropical water-loving herbs are all great for supporting the brain. Can be eaten as a vegetable; a great addition to a “Smart Vinegar.” Traditionally used as a treatment for insomnia. Can be made into a pesto or cooked like spinach, or eaten in salads. Has a history with treating cholesterol. Sushni looks very reminiscent of clover or oxalis and forms a beautiful mat-like clover, but it is actually a type of fern. The leaves fold up at night. Prefers full sun. All of our plants and seedlings are grown organically and are timed size-wise and transplanted for optional growth and production.
Note: The shorter plant in the photo is Bacopa – the Sushni is the taller one with the clover-like foliage.
