Description
Also called “Silk Tree” Mimosa is a wonderful herbal tree – a smallish tree – about 35′ tall. Pink silk (fiberoptic-looking…) blooms in spring – attractive to hummingbirds. Medium to fast growing. Prefers full sun to partial shade and is drought tolerant. Makes a good shade tree, but is short-lived (only about 20-25 years old).
Although the bark and flowers are used in herbalism for treating various types of depression, the seeds are toxic. Can grow aggressively – maintain this tree responsibly.
All of our plants and seedlings are grown organically and are timed size-wise and transplanted for optional growth and production.
