Azolla – Mosqiuto Moss or Fairy Fern (Pint-Tub)

Description

A floating symbiotic community – of a plant, an algae, and a bacteria. Magical – fills in the pond surface allowing bees to safely land and drink,  but repels mosquitos. So sturdy, you can lay a magazine on top of your pond!

Could get aggressive in warmer areas, but Azolla is sensitive to frost as well as low light… but grows fast, so you could grow as an annual… Great fodder for fish, poultry, etc.!
