Twinleaf – Jeffersonia diphylla (quart pot)

Description

This is such a strikingly simple and symmetrical native plant of woods and forests. Easy to grow in shady places – and a great contrast to the frilliness of ferns. (I am starting to grow these between my fern groupings.) Also a good companion plant while building medicinal herb guild plantings. Loves rich, moist but well-drained soils. Part shade to shade.

The flowers are similar to bloodroot, also beautifully simple… appearing in April.
