Description
I call this Frilly Yarrow – I’ve seen it referred to as cotton tail yarrow or marshmallow yarrow –
A striking 2 foot tall ball-shaped perennial plant of white flowers- unlike normal yarrows, these are single flowers and the petal arrangement is quite diverse – a great cut flower and dried flower. Blooms all summer if flowers are cut regularly. Full sun and easy and fast growing. Hardy perennial.
Very different from classic medicinal yarrow – the overall look here is more reminiscent of Baby’s Breath, with large, ivory white flowers that are produced over a low, mounding habit of green foliage. Compared to the A. millefolium types, the flower clusters on this perennial are more singular and well-spaced. Great for adding texture to the garden!
Very easy to grow and is a good choice for beginners. All it needs is full sun and well-drained soil. 18-24″ tall; Hardy to zone 3.
Native to North America
