Queen of the Prairie – Filipendula rubra ‘Venusta’ cultivar (quart pot)

Description

As I was sources seeds of harder-to-find filipendulas I ran across this ornamental cultivar of the native F. rubra. I couldn’t help but buy the seeds to give it a try in 2025.

This is a shorter and stockier Queen of the Prairie with bigger and brighter blooms.

Best grown in full sun and in moist soil. Easy-to-grow and good for pollinators. Related to the medicinal herb, Meadowsweet.
