Horsetail (Equisetum hyemale) (quart pot)

Description

Horsetail – Field Horsetail or Tall Scouring Rush or Rough Horsetail

This is the native horsetail in this area. It is a great source of silica – and is a medicinal horsetail (E. arvense is also used medicinally but it is usually found further north.)

Enjoys wet field soil.  Full sun or Light Shade. Deer resistant. Will spread aggressively if it is happy.

Horsetail is an ancient plant – like ferns, it reproduces by spores rather than seeds.
