Echium fastuosum – Pride of Madiera (quart pot)

Description

This is the large, stunning plant with cones of purple-blue flowers in my greenhouse – it finally became mature enough to produce viable seeds and youngsters!

Grows fast and gets flowers quickly, so you could grow it as an annually, but you’ll miss out on the gigantic entity it could become if you don’t bring it indoors for the winter around here.

Grows fine in a large pot. Likes full sun and well drained soil. Stems and branches are interesting with glistening colors on furry stems.
