Yellow Evening Primrose or Common Evening Primrose – Oenothera biennis

N.A. Native. The most medicinally  useful of all the many native Oenothera species. 2-6’ tall. Doesn’t mind dryish soils or weak soil. Full to Part sun,

Biennial – grows vegetatively first year and flowers in second. Flowers all summer. Deer resistant. 

Supports both Larval and Moth stages of the pink Primrose Moth (Schinia florida).
