Description

Outstanding French lavender, similar to ‘Grosso.’ Gros Bleu is a popular lavender in the Pacific Northwest Lavender Farms. Blooms are sweeter in scent and a deeper purple color than Grosso. Flower spikes are long and held on extra long stems – an excellent cutting lavender.

NOTE: Lavender cannot have wet feet – it will rot. It should be planted in full sun and in well drained alkaline sandy soil. Raised beds or rock gardens are perfect. After the second year of growth, begin pruning once or twice a year, cutting back a third of its foliage. This will help maintain its shape, leaf and flower production as well as prevent woodiness. Blooms mid summer.
