Amsonias are wonderful shrub-like native perennials. Magical light blue star-like flowers in spring. Can take some time to get established, but then thrives and naturalizes. Great seed pods too.

Foliage flashes bright yellow in fall. Great cut flower.

Not picky – likes sun to partial shade – even does well in quite shady spots, although it gets less bushy and showy. 2-3 feet tall
