Description
A compact, shade-loving perennial prized for its extremely finely dissected, fern-like foliage and creamy white, plume-like flowers in early summer. Growing 18–24 inches tall and wide, this deer-resistant, low-maintenance plant is ideal for woodland gardens, edging, or containers, offering a delicate texture that thrives in moist, well-drained soil.
Features highly dissected, needle-like, deep green foliage that creates a “poof” or “filigreed” effect. Produces creamy white plumes that turn ivory as they age in early to mid-summer. Compact, dwarf habit, typically reaching 20–24 inches in height and width.
Prefers partial to full shade, but can handle full sun in cooler climates if kept consistently moist. Hardy in Zones 3-7; it is deer-resistant, long-lived, and low-maintenance once established. Perfect for small shaded gardens, woodland borders, or underplanting. It is a slow grower initially and can be difficult to transplant, so choose its location carefully.
