Also known as Indian Ginseng

Annual or Tender Perennial

Easy to grow – very similar to growing tomatillos. I grow ashwagandha plants in large pots (tomato-sized). The large pots make it easy to harvest the roots by simply dumping the pots…

I grow several plants each year to get solid pollination and to be able to harvest seeds for replanting year after year.

Ashwagandha root tea is something I enjoy quite often – it is mild and pleasant flavored and very good for de-stressing and yet energizing. By growing my own, I know I am getting high quality and super fresh roots to work with.

A popular ayurvedic herb and rasayana herb, ashwagandha is a great general tonic herb – improving energy levels, health, and longevity. It is also often used for stress, anxiety, fatigue, pain, skin diseases, diabetes, gastrointestinal disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and epilepsy.

Ashwagandha is also neuroprotective as well as anti-inflammatory. Also known for reducing joint pain – can be used as a general analgesic – or topical analgesic as a salve.
