Description
Drummond’s Aster is one of the host plants of the Pearl Crescent.
Its stems and foliar undersides are covered by fine hairs. The leaves extend on wing-like stems and are lance-like or oval with heart-shaped bases. The white blossoms become tinged with blue-purple as they age.
The flowers attract many different pollinators. Grows well in almost sunlight condition and not picky about soil either – late autumn blooming. 3 feet in height.
Other names in use are Hairy Heart-Leaved Aster and Aster drummondii.
