Aster – Heart-Leaved (quart pot)

Description

Heart-Leaved or Common Blue Wood Aster – Aster cordifolium or Symphyotricum cordifolium.

A great native – I love the billowy clusters of tiny light blue-lavender flowers and so do honeybees and other pollinators. Asters are perfectly timed to fill in the late summer gap of pollinator-support.

Asters don’t mind a bit of shade in the afternoon. Quite easy to grow – they are hardy and adaptable.
