Chinese Toon (quart pot)

Description

Also called Chinese cedar or Chinese Mahogany. Native to Asia. Grows quite well in a large pot that can be brought inside for the winter. Fragrant tender shoots and young leaves are eaten in salads, stir-fried with eggs, pickled, or roasted and dried and used in tea.

Toon is a very nutritious plant, high in Beta-carotene, vitamin E, riboflavin, folic ascorbic acid, calcium, iron, and more… It is also quite high in protein…

The leaf, bark, fruit, and roots are all used in Traditional Chinese Medicine – Toon is often prescribed for lowering blood sugar, defending the body against oxygen loss, and for fertility issues.
