Description

Charcoal acts as a filter to absorb impurities in water and improve air quality. It is excellent as a layer in the bottom of containers and in terrariums where water may pool.

When I have a pot or container without great drainage, I add a layer of charcoal (sometimes mixed with pebbles).

It can be hard to find good quality charcoal when you need it – this is a great product to have on hand for when you need it.

Charcoal – also known as Bio-Char – is an almost magical ingredient in soil building. It can absorb and hold and store a wide diversity of nutrients and minerals and slowly release them over time to the plants nearby.

Charcoal is also great for use in keeping big plantings and indoor plantings fresh as well as humid. I used quite a few of these bags this fall as I prepared to bring in a bunch of tender perennials into my house. The heat of the winter home is too dry for many plants – so I make humidity trays which I line with charcoal to keep them smelling fresh and clean. It is also great for terraniums!

I always have great luck with this brand, and so I ordered a big case so I can share with you.

4 quart bag

I can include a bag with your plant order when you pick up!
