Evening Primrose – Pink, Also called, Showy Evening Primrose.

Native to SW USA, but has naturalized to many other parts of the country. It is hardy and robust, spreading by stoloniferous rootstocks and seeds. Tends to form a mat like ground covering.

The large flowers are cup-shaped and showy, usually opening in the evening or cloudy days, although in some areas of the county they open during the day. It is drought tolerant and easy – growing in any soil type (except poor drainage). It will go dormant in times of drought. Flowers best in sun.
