Yellow Evening Primrose or Sundrops also known as Prairie Sundrops. Oenothera pilosella
These evening primroses are bright buttercup yellow and shorter than traditional evening primroses. They only get about 2 feet high and enjoy full sun or light shade.
N.A. Native. Although related to Evening Primrose, Sundrops are day-flowering. Naturalizing into dense mats, but easy to weed out to keep it looking tidy. Super-pollinator-friendly.
Moist soils, full sun is best. Supports both Larval and Moth stages of the pink Primrose Moth (Schinia florida).
