Description
Grosso lavender is renowned as one of the most fragrant and heavily blooming lavender varieties, specifically prized for its exceptionally high oil content and long, deep-purple flower spikes. It is a hardy, disease-resistant hybrid that combines heat tolerance with cold-hardiness, thriving in diverse climates.
NOTE: Lavender cannot have wet feet – it will rot. It should be planted in full sun and in well drained alkaline sandy soil. Raised beds or rock gardens are perfect. After the second year of growth, begin pruning once or twice a year, cutting back a third of its foliage. This will help maintain its shape, leaf and flower production as well as prevent woodiness. Blooms mid summer.
