Description
Nova raspberries are a highly cold-hardy, vigorous, and disease-resistant summer-bearing cultivar (Zones 3–8) developed in Canada, ideal for northern climates and home gardens. They produce firm, bright red, sweet-tart berries with a long shelf life, making them excellent for fresh eating, freezing, and jams. Provides consistent, high yields, and can sometimes set a small second crop in the fall.
Vigorous, upright, and nearly thornless canes (or very few spines), making them easy to manage.Typically a summer bearer, producing in mid-summer (June/July).
Highly resistant to many common cane diseases.
Medium to large, firm, bright red berries. Balanced sweet and acidic flavor with good aroma. Excellent for fresh consumption, freezing, and processing into jams or jellies. Known for having a long shelf life compared to other varieties.
Requires full sun and well-drained soil. Generally considered low-maintenance, but requires trellising for best results. Requires removal of old floricanes (second-year canes) after harvest.
