Description

Also called Meadow Rue, Giant Meadow Rue, or Lavender Mist Rue – this is  a tall and slender perennial – it is like an elongated garden rue, with blue-green, pinnately compound, columbine-like foliage. It is crowned in summer with diminutive, pendulous, lavender-purple flowers with bright yellow stamens. Flowers are thick and cute-looking. Flower clusters are airy and dangle above the open foliage stems, often 6 feet tall. Spectacular and dependable. Magnificent in the garden and in a vase.

I am seriously obsessed with this plant and all its species – T. rochebruneanum is a great place to start to them – The flowers are subtle, but have a fairy-magic to them – I started with using them when we were a cutflower farm – stunning in bouquets!

This plant makes a nice strong clump – that holds its own against weeds – and the flowers are awesome, but the stems and leaves are just thrilling and delightful. Stems are a smmoth and cold deep wine purple topped with the broad umbels, of bright, lavender clusters of flowers accented by yellow stamens, in July and August. Folliage is best described as dainty, maidenhair fern-like. I just love these! And I am working on more species to offer!!

These will be available starting mid May 2026! Sorry for the delay!
