Description

Azure Blue Sage – a hard-to-find prairie sage – the blue color is definitely reminiscent of the sky. It is easy to grow and requires soil that is not-so-rich, otherwise it may fall over from growing too quickly. Planting with other tall perennial prairie plants will help keep it growing upright. Wonderful sage scent repels deer and other pests.

Sometimes referred to as Pitcher Sage.

The bloom period of Blue Sage of late summer through early fall, attracts lots of bees and butterflies to the nectar. Larval food plant for the Hermit Sphinx Moth – which also enjoys other salvias/sages.
