Sage – Red (plant)

Description

Salvia miltiorrhiza – Red Sage Root. Also Known as Dan Shen or Danshen. An important medicinal alterative herb that is used extensively in TCM.

Tender perennial – well worth bringing these medicinal beauties indoors each winter! I have had great luck growing Red Sage Roots in large pots. They are sprawling plants with attractive flowers stalks. Growing them in pots allows for easy harvesting of the roots in 2-3 years.
