Thyme – Mastic (3.25″ pot)

Description

Sometimes called Spanish Thyme. This is a tender thyme – Hardy to Zones 7 to 10, but may be grown as an annual. Sun and dry soil.

Small shrub native to SW Europe. Camphoraceous in scent, and a source of anxiolytic rosmarinic acid as well as significant amounts of eucalyptol and also some camphor.

Burned to purify surroundings, also used to pack in clothing to deter moths. An herbal antiseptic and germ-killer.

Flavor is quite hot when used in cooking. High essential oil content.
