State flower of Illinois, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Wisconsin.
Commonly found and freely self-seeding, Common Blue Violet will spread readily, adding diversity to lawns.
A lovely groundcover that provides early nectar source for bees and other pollinators.
Like all violets, it is also a hots plant for the larvae of native fritillary butterfly species.
